ABOUT THE IRON GRIZ

Iron Griz: American Bistro sits along the University of Montana Golf Course and offers a seasonal menu built around garden-to-table dining. Much of our produce is harvested just steps from the kitchen, straight from the Iron Griz Garden.

​

Open from May to August, Iron Griz is a summer dining spot with patio seating, views of the course, and a relaxed setting that highlights the best of Montana’s growing season.

Fresh food, local flavor, and a garden out front.

 

That’s what we bring to the table.

COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

Iron Griz is part of the University of Montana’s Farm to College program, a long-standing effort to bring Montana-grown food into campus dining. The ingredients we serve often come from nearby ranches, orchards, and farms.

 

Many of them are family-run and focused on sustainable practices.

Our kitchen team works with Campus Dining’s sourcing partners to choose products that reflect the quality and diversity of what’s grown in Montana.

 

From local grains and dairy to regionally raised meats, Farm to College helps keep our menu rooted in the state we call home.

EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF

Chef Hailey Palmer brings a personal approach to food shaped by family meals, military potlucks, and years spent cooking in kitchens across the country. Her style blends comfort with creativity, and her menus reflect the diverse stories that make up American cuisine.

At Iron Griz, Hailey leads a student-centered team and works closely with Campus Dining’s garden and sustainability programs to source ingredients responsibly. She sees food as a way to connect with memory, with community, and with place.

 

Every dish on the menu reflects that perspective.
